Multiple Exposures

When shooting in front of a window during daylight, how to properly expose both the background in the ambient light and your subject. My suggestion is always to expose your background first and then bring the model in, and you don't want to have her in front of your camera for minutes on end while you calibrate your camera flash. You can calibrate for the background, bring her in and then make a slight adjustment with your flash to bring her into the photo and pop her skin color and her lighting. Remember, new models tend to get frustrated or confused, so you don't want to discourage them. I know focusing on the details is important, but the biggest detail is your client, so making sure that they're happy and confident will make huge dividends in your photo.

Special thanks to the awesome Autumn for her expertise and always understanding the correct pose to get the best photo. Her expertise in this photo and my photography skills made this photo work. Both of us were on the same page and understood precisely what we had to do to achieve these goals.
